Healthware’s Research and Data Analysis Business Unit primarily examines healthcare databases derive from clinical research or real-world settings, using simple association analyses and/or complex causal models. Our company has a team of experienced researchers, analysts and questioners who carry out research projects. The data processing and evaluation are supported by qualified biostatistician team.
Questionnaire survey
Our business unit provides the full implementation of questionnaire surveys in person, by phone or using our self-developed online platform.
Data Management from the National Health Insurance Fund Administration (NHIFA)
The database managed by the National Health Insurance Fund Administration (NHIFA) includes all reimbursed health care services of the entire Hungarian population (applied therapies, interventions, in- and outpatient services). In opposition to other currently available public or paid databases, the NHIFA database is the only proper one where detailed patient pathways can be obtained from at population level. In our NHIFA data management service pack the whole data query process is coordinated by us, from requesting access to the database to the final data processing. The results are made available in Excel files or project-specific online platforms.
Patient & Disease Characteristics Analysis on Real World Data
As a result of the analysis, the basic epidemiological characteristics of a disease or a specific therapeutic area can be explored. Such an analysis could be a good starting point for further research but also suitable for expanding medical knowledge by itself. Due to the limited available disease-specific data and public information, these types of analyses are essential nowadays.
Therapy analysis on Real World Data
Accurate picture of different therapeutic areas can be obtained by using NHIFA and healthcare institution databases. In addition to the trend of drug dispensations, treatment usages (persistence, MPR, concomitant therapies, etc.) and treatment switching, the effectiveness and cost of therapies can also be examined. Using appropriate methodology to compare treatment efficacy even causal inference can be made, which can be used to create more accurate cost-effectiveness models.
Budget Impact Analysis & Simulation Models
Conducting disease or subgroup-specific budget impact analysis with simulation platforms based on real world data.
Burden of Disease Analysis
Currently, in health economics reports, which are based on the view of the local financer, the indirect cost of therapies can be considered with limitations. Questionnaire surveys can be made to assess the indirect costs for patients and the government (absenteeism, apartment remodelling, informal care, etc.). Using these results more accurate model development is also possible.
Patient-flow Models
A complex simulation platform where real budget impact and effectiveness are simultaneously calculated on patient level. By applying it, it is possible to model and optimize new forms of financing. Proposition for modifying financial protocols to decision-makers can be made using models based on real world data.
Development of Indicator System
Quality indicators are needed to evaluating a therapy at macro level. Based on the comprehensive knowledge gained from micro-level analysis products, the development of systems that show the success of each healthcare technology in a transparent way using objective parameters can be guaranteed.
